Massage/Facial Aftercare Advice
To ensure that you gain maximum benefit from your treatment, we recommend that you:
- Increase the amount of water you drink over the next few days
- Reduce your caffeine intake (coffee, tea and fizzy drinks)
- Try to avoid alcohol for 24 hours
- Try to keep products on the skin & avoid wearing make up for 6 hours after facial treatment
- Avoid any skin exfoliation for at least 5 days after facial (dermaplaning only!)
- Avoid perfumed products, direct heat, sun exposure and any other facial treatments for 48 hours (dermaplaning only!)
- Wear an SPF 15 minimal daily to protect skin
- Try to avoid physical exercise for 24 hours
Occasionally, you may experience reactions when the body begins its self – healing process and elimination of toxins especially after a relaxing treatment. These reactions may include:
- Frequent visits to the toilet
- Runny nose and/or cough
- Slight rash as the skin rebalances
- Perspiration – another way the body can excrete waste
- Conditions which have been suppressed may flare up temporarily before they heal
- Deep sleep or difficulty sleeping and vivid dreams
- These reactions are only temporary and should clear within 24 - 48 hours. They are positive signals that your body has responded to the treatment and is balancing itself.
